Turns out the number of hits to the right is the number of computers that have accessed this site, not a count of the number of times people have visted the site. Far out. That’s a lot of people.

It’s not my style to ask for a handout, but the more I can make money off of this site the more I can justify spending so much of my time doing this. You can use Bill Pay or direct deposit to send money to the account for this site. I don’t mess with credit cards. And I would not recommend a wire transfer. They charge a fee for that. The name of the account is the full name of the website.

I don’t know to what extent the government is planning on building actual buildings, but I ask you to include in any plans for building new buildings that they be built according to LEED and Energy Star standards. The information tends to show that when construction cost for traditional building construction is compared to green building, the traditional building is somewhat cheaper. When the cost of using a traditional building is compared to the cost of using a green building the cost of the green building is significantly less.
In theory we want these buildings to stand the test of time and be usable for years to come. We need to consider a building’s entire life cycle when making a cost benefit analysis. There is no point in making a construction cost analysis and claiming that you have calculated how much that building costs. That is only one part of the cost of a building and is not even a particularly large part of the cost of a building. Buildings built according to LEED and Energy Star standards save money over time. That’s good for the taxpayer, both because individuals will end up paying lower utility bills and because the government will pay less on utility bills as well and be able to either lower taxes or spend that saved money on other things necessary for a well-functioning society.
Using a building is not free. Buildings consume roughly 1/3 of the energy in the world and 70% of the nation’s electricity (NSTC 2008). We’re paying for that. The taxpayer is paying for that. The taxpayer is the one paying the government’s utility bill. We need to take advantage of modern technology that lowers that cost.
Sincerely,
Creating Jobs by not Pooping in Clean Water

I know the current administration is investing a lot of money in infrastructure. A significant amount of that money should be used for redoing the piping and plumbing system in the United States. That should probably be done every so many years anyway and has not been done, mainly because it’d be such a hassle excavating the pipes and everything else. We have a system of pipes that are getting more and more corroded and old with every year and we’re getting more and more floaties in our tap water. Again that piping should probably be replaced every so many years anyway, and, with the government’s movement towards creation of jobs and infrastructure, now is the perfect time.
In addition, our plumbing system in general doesn’t make perfect sense. We have a system where the same pipes are used to bring water to my sink as are used to bring water to my toilet. Frankly, that is disgusting, creating a system in which we are literally shitting in our drinking water. We should pipe salt water into our toilets and clean water into our sinks. There is no shortage of salt water and there would be no reason to spend tax dollars filtering it after it’s been used for people’s natural bodily functions. Especially when you hear about places like California where they sometimes have drinking water shortages you can’t help but wonder why we are still shitting in our drinking water. What do we have against California? If redoing our highway system creates jobs in the shortterm that’s great, but frankly most of the roadway I’ve driven on recently has been pretty good. I think redoing our piping system would create just as many jobs, if not more, and provide a lot more benefit to American society and the American standard of living.
Sincerely,
The Need and Potential for New Industry in the United States

Dear Senator So And So,

The fact that green energy machinery costs so much is an advantage. We need an expensive product to lift us out of this recession. A new cell phone or a new laptop just isn’t going to do it. They just don’t cost enough for the amount of revenue that we need to create. What put America on the economic map was the fact that we were one of the first countries to take advantage of industry, at that time a new and expensive technology. Other countries might have industrialized, but we took the concept and ran with it. Now we have industry. Then what brought us out of the great depression was making expensive machines of war. They cost a lot too, but we decided to make it a priority and we created a new industry expensive enough to lift us out of the Great Depression. Now we have bombs. Trying to recreate the industrial revolution or the solution to the Great Depression will not work. If there was any doubt that the same solution could work twice it should be laid to rest by now seeing as how we are currently waging two wars and not only has that not helped our economic situation, it has worsened the problem.
We need a new industry. We need to be the first to do something again. We need something, like green energy, expensive enough and important enough to lift us out of our current recession. Because if we don’t, not only will we be missing out on the best solution to our current economic situation, we will be putting ourselves in the situation where instead of selling this product to foreign countries and rich Americans, and even though as a whole we are in a recession there are still many rich Americans out there, we are going to have to be the ones to buy this technology from other countries. And that will put us in an extremely different position both financially and globally. This technology is out there. It is only a matter of time before someone comes out with it. However much it costs to produce new forms of energy it would cost us a lot more to buy it from Germany, from France, from Japan or from whoever ends up being the first to produce it.
Sincerely,
